Virtually undetectable are the differences between PhotoPolymer (series 8000 ADA), Acrylic Raster (series 7000 ADA) and In-Laid Acrylic Raster (series 7500) ADA signs. The versatility of our signs doesn't stop with these three forms, we can also add subsurface information or graphics to any of these three.
 Our sign systems are constructed using the
latest technology and the highest quality phenolic-backed photopolymer,
or acrylic, to assure the finest product available. Each sign is
painted the color of your choice using our catalyzed Acrylic /
Polyurethane. At just the proper curing stage, the raised text and
symbols are hot-stamped a contrasting color at 400°F under 2,000 lbs.

excluded except by special order or for California Compliance rules
signs. The sign then receives the non-glare clear coat for protection
from fading.
We can also produce clear photopolymer! Or, we can produce clear Acrylic with Raster braille dots. Plaques or metal frame signs can work for  exterior applications as well. And that's not all! Through the technology that enables us to provide our digitally printed inserts, we're also able to offer printed subsurface graphics to accent your tactile signs. The Photopolymer (series 8000 ADA) Signmaking Process For each tactile sign, a negative is printed directly from the computer using a high density thermal printer. The negative film is then trimmed to size and placed directly on top of a piece of photopolymer plate and exposed to ultraviolet light. Photopolymer plates are sheets of photosensitive polymer resin precisely laminated to a substrate. The plates, when processed, provide the 1/32" raised text, symbols, and Grade II Braille. According to the Customer's choice, these negatives comply with either the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1991 or the subsequent revisions by ANSI.  To keep the tactile and non-tactile portions of our Combination units flush with each other, our Series 8000ADA™ substrate thickness is 0.079" (2mm). For stand-alone units, 0.118" (3mm), material is used.The plate is put through an automated processor where it is scrubbed, rinsed, cured through baking, and post-exposed to ultraviolet light to harden the raised material. The processed plate is then hand-routed to its finish size. Our special adhesion primer is sprayed onto the sign, as well as our catalyzed Acrylic / Polyurethane background color. The foreground color is then hot-stamped onto the raised letters and symbols (Braille is excluded except for California Rules Compliant signs or otherwise requested.) A protective matte clear coat is then sprayed onto the sign unit, and allowed to dry again. If the tactile piece is part of a combination sign, all components are then hand-assembled. Where applicable, the unit then gets double-sided adhesive mounting tape applied to the back, individually labeled, sealed in a plastic bag, sorted, and shipped.
